THINGS YOU SHOULD DO WHEN YOU VISIT THE CENTENNIAL ROSE B&B

IN PHILIPSBURG:

Visit historical sites like the Old Mud Church (pictured).  Take a walk downtown,  and go antique shopping at the newly opened Conkiln's Antique Mall.  Then take in a movie at the historic Rowland Theater.  We recommend you see it from the balcony in an old "love seat" a movie in the first row.  The cost per person any show is just $4.50, which makes your evening out both fun and inexpensive.  Have some popcorn, too!   Check out the oldest standing house in Philipsburg, the Simler House just 3 blocks away!

AT PENN STATE:

Where do we start?  You can do so much in the State College area from the famous football games to Broadway style shows at the Eisenhower Auditorium.  Those of you who happen to like ice cream must stop at The Creamery for a sample of the world's finest ice cream flavors.  From Peachy Paterno to Death by Chocolate, The Creamery will impress.  In addition, PSU often has many large events like the East Coast Volleyball Tournament.  When you stay with us, you can count on being close enough to the action but far enough away to escape the craziness for a relaxing time!

OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES:

Centennial Rose is just nine miles from beautiful Black Moshannon State Park and close enough to Indian Caverns, Penn's Cave, the Horseshoe Curve, along with numerous trout stocked creeks in the valley of our many mountains.  Guests can ski at Tussey Mountain or Blue Knob, all of which are less than an hour away.

SPORTS:

Once again, our location is perfect for many sports fans.  We are close to the Penn State and an easy drive for football, basketball, or wrestling events.  Centennial Rose is just 45 minutes from the Blair County Ballpark, home of the AA affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Altoona Curve.
